interesting to note, the son of Dolores Ibárruri aka "la pasionaria" a famous republican communist was killed at stalingrad - he was a captain!
i was sent a pdf from there group called krasnaya zvezda (or grupo de recreacion historica ispaniets) but its all in spanish

Hi Sergei,
Nick absolutely right about Detling.
It was my last public event this year and I have never been before.
I loved every minute of it.
The atmosphere there (and the weather) are brilliant. It is a truly international event in all respects.
It is in the south east as well ; so it is easy to get to by air or by land.
We had some great battles with the fasch and rode in on half-tracks and trucks.
A jeep towed a small artillery piece and we all wore great big smiles.
Bair came with his friends all the way from Finland and Russia. and they set up camp opposite us. There was plenty of space for more people and it was really friendly.
Nick brought with him a Russian war-film called "Zvezda" and we watched it ,projected on a big screen. Magic !
