I don't like this guy above half, however it does fill a gap in the market, for a readable history of the siege. Glantz is excellent on details but his writing style is rather dry, so he tends to get referred to more than he is read.

I read "The 900 Days" by Harrison E. Salisbury.
All about the siege and I finished it just before we went last January.So it was good to see the city as all the details from the book were fresh in my mind.
It concentrated mostly on the lead up to the siege,the political decisions and the characters involved.It was only the last third of the book which got into the nitty gritty of the daily suffering of the inhabitants.
A good read overall if a little heavy gooing at first.
